A recent survey by Australian accounting software company MYOB, suggests that Australia’s small businesses may be missing out on online business opportunities.
Out of almost 1700 small businesses surveyed, 41% have a website, 55% have yet to register a domain name and 29% use their websites for e-commerce.
Only 11% of businesses in the transport and storage industry have a website, the lowest of any sector, ahead of agriculture (27%) and construction (29%).
As would be expected, 72% of communications, media and marketing businesses have a web presence, followed by cultural and recreation services (71%) and ICT businesses (63%).
